2.3. Premis-Premis Penelitian

1. Kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan yang tinggi memiliki hubungan dengan kepuasan kerja atau job satisfaction (Duchon, Green, & Taber; 1986, Graen dkk.; 1982).

 

2. Kemiripan personalitas, kemiripan demografis, dan keseluruhan kemiripan persepsi merupakan faktor penting dalam pembentukan persepsi dan harapan baik bagi atasan maupun bawahan (Liden dkk.; 1993, Turban & Jones; 1988).

3. Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara kemiripan persepsi dengan ketertarikan atau daya tarik antar individu (interpersonal attraction). (Berscheid & Walster; 1969, Byrne; 1971, Harrison; 1976).

4. Ada harapan bahwa ketertarikan atasan kepada bawahan (leader liking of subordinate) akan berhubungan dengan persepsi-persepsi bawahan atas kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan. (Wayne; 1997, Deluga; 1998)

5. Keseluruhan kemiripan yang dipersepsikan (perceived similarity) memiliki hubungan dengan LMX. (Liden; 1997, Liden dan Wayne; 1995).

6. Paradigma ketertarikan menyatakan bahwa individu kemungkinan besar akan tertarik pada orang-orang dimana mereka mirip dengan dirinya pada karakteristik demografis yang penting. (Chattopadhyay; 1999, Byrne; 1971).
